Follow your Inspiration and Trust Life

As 2025 began, I was brimming with ideas and plans. I felt excited about running multiple art and coaching classes, building or joining a creative community, and bringing several new projects to life. Some of those plans have taken off beautifully—especially tidying up and redesigning my gardens. Gardening had been on hold while I focused on painting my house, and by the time that project was done, the garden felt completely out of control.

It took a few months and a couple of false starts to gain momentum. I began by removing the fence around my vegetable garden and, little by little, started digging over and replanting the garden beds. With each step forward, the next step seemed to reveal itself naturally. Now I’m hooked! This year, I’ve been dismantling some garden beds, replanting others, and tidying up spaces to make room for new structures.

With every step, the garden is transforming into something more peaceful, manageable, and full of life—a magical space that’s bringing me so much joy.

But not every plan unfolded as I expected. I had scheduled an art class for Wednesday afternoons and put all the preparations in place, only to find that no one enrolled. At first, it felt like a failure. But then I realised my heart wasn’t truly in it—it felt more like an obligation than something I was excited about.

Right after advertising the class, I saw an ad in the local paper for a community group of artists that meets on Wednesday afternoons at exactly the same time my class would have been. The timing felt too perfect to ignore—serendipity at its best.

Instead of pushing forward with my original plan, I decided to trust the nudge and join the group. It feels exciting, like exactly what I need right now: an opportunity to connect and co-create with other artists, immerse myself in creativity, and nurture my own practice.

Life has a way of guiding us—if we’re willing to pay attention. Recently, I met a handyman with the skills, time, and enthusiasm to help with the building, demolition, and repair work needed to bring my garden projects to life. He’s happy to take on the tasks that require more strength or expertise than I can manage on my own. Having him on board has turned my vision for the garden into a tangible reality, and it’s all coming together faster than I imagined.

These experiences have reminded me that following inspiration doesn’t always mean sticking to the original plan. Sometimes it’s about staying open to redirection, noticing where the energy is flowing, and trusting that unexpected opportunities are guiding us exactly where we need to be. It’s also been a powerful reminder that I don’t have to do everything on my own—that accepting help is not a sign of weakness, but a true strength.

Not every plan is meant to unfold exactly as we first envision. Living a joyful and creative life means letting go of rigid expectations, giving ourselves the grace to experiment and make mistakes, and having the patience to allow our ideas to evolve. When we do, we create space for something even better to emerge. Trust the process—take the first steps, adjust your plans as needed, and keep moving forward. Life has a magical way of meeting us halfway and making things happen.

Are you feeling stuck or unsure of your next steps? Sometimes, all it takes is a little guidance to rediscover your inspiration and move forward with clarity and confidence. If you’re ready to explore what’s holding you back and create a life that feels more aligned and joyful, let’s connect. I’d love to help you on your journey.
